This course was designed for the person who knows little or nothing about accounting. It was created to be used with a calculator only.
The student does not need a computer nor does he need to purchase software to complete this book.
The student will learn all aspects of accounting necessary to operate a business including how to create balance sheets, income and expense statements, cash flow statements and owner's equity statements.
The course will teach the student how to analyze their business to determine such important issues as profitability, cost benefit analysis, inventory control and employee wastage issues.
Many business owners know how to do basic bookkeeping, however they do not know how to do analytical accounting. A true life example of the importance of analytical accounting :
Mark owned a small logging company. He hired a bookkeeper. She managed to siphon off over $50,000 in one year because while Mark could read the books, he did not know how to analyze them.
This book consists of numerous contracts and documents that the business owner will use. If the business owner were to hire an attorney to create these documents, he would spend a significant amount of money. For example, an employee manual that is as substantial as this one would cost in excess of $1,000 to have developed.
Not every contract and document in this book will be used by every business, however, the business owner will want to review these carefully to see what contracts and documents would be appropriate for their business.
The most important document in this book is the business plan questionnaire. This will give you a track to run on as you are writing your business plan.
This book is full of different business plan concepts. Some are just a page or two, while others are twenty to thirty pages long. You will want to read through every single business plan even if you do not think that the specific plan will apply to what you are doing. By doing this you will obtain business ideas that can be used in your business. For example, you will read about some unique marketing ideas in the Hair Extension business plan that you might apply to your business plan of owning a restaurant. In addition, these different ideas will help start your creative juices flowing. So, don’t skip any of these business plan ideas.
